CURTIS LASETER
CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR

INDUSTRY RELATED EXPERIENCE

Curtis has spent a good portion of his career working on television series, so what might appear on his resume' to be a short list of credits, is actually an ongoing exercise in build budgeting and crew management.

For about 19 years he has been involved directly in the construction of scenery for Film, Television and Theatre - including four years as Construction Foreman for a Los Angeles scenery shop, five consecutive seasons as Construction Coordinator on the television series, BABYLON 5, an additional season with its spin-off, CRUSADE and three seasons on the SHOWTIME original series, RESURRECTION BLVD. Curtis and his crew were also called upon to build sets for each of the four seasons of RIPLEY'S - BELIEVE IT OR NOT, hosted by Dean Cain. They also did the Construction and Paint work on the acclaimed HBO production of LACKAWANNA BLUES.

Prior to his experience in series television, Curtis was Production Manager for the PASADENA PLAYHOUSE from 1987 through 1989 - two years that were instrumental in reestablishing the PLAYHOUSE as a viable venue for professional live theatre in Southern California.

Before his stint as Production Manager at the PLAYHOUSE, he was Technical Director for the CANON THEATRE in Beverly Hills and Master Carpenter and Properties Master at the CHERRY LANE THEATRE in New York.

He is a member in good standing with IATSE PROPMAKERS LOCAL 44 and has a well-equipped tool package complete with two 40-foot trailers for its transport.

Before temporarily leaving Los Angeles to be closer to his aging parents, Curtis and his crew completed work on the UNIVERSAL STUDIOS production of BECAUSE I SAID SO, starring Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore.

After returning to Alabama, Curtis worked as Video Editor, Motion Graphics Designer and Director for Mike Ousley Productions in Birmingham. While there, Curtis edited a variety of television productions, which aired in top twenty markets in St. Louis, Missouri and Mobile, Alabama..

In 2012, Curtis performed a wide range of duties as an unconventional Construction Coordinator on the NatGeo reality series, ROCKET CITY REDNECKS, which was shot in and around Huntsville, Alabama.

After returning to Los Angeles, Curtis and his fantastic crew completed sets for the feature film, BROKEN HORSES, the Netflix series, RICHIE RICH and THE DUEL, a feature starring Woody Harrelson and Liam Hemsworth, shot on location in Greenwood, Mississippi.  Other projects that followed include, the HBO series, BARRY and BLUFF CITY LAW, which was shot in Memphis, TN for NBC Universal Television.
